Mobile World Capital Barcelona (MWCB) is an initiative with the aim of transforming Barcelona into the capital of mobile evolution. Its goal is to create the optimal conditions by which companies and agents from different areas may bring about this transformation, and they in turn will make an impact on the territory. MWCB is an initiative that should act as an engine for development and internationalization of the whole business network of Barcelona, Catalonia and Spain.
Over the next few years, mobility will lead to societal transformation not only as a result of the incorporation of mobile solutions into the daily routines of citizens, but as part of a profound change mechanics across all sectors.
This transformation requires the coordination of many stakeholders. In this sense, MWCB can play an essential coordination role for governments, institutions and companies, acting as a stimulus for all these stakeholders to develop more efficient solutions and to experience the real value of mobile transformation.
mHealth is a clear example of the potential of IT when placed as a service to society. Mobility applied to health allows fully personalized health management and changes completely the way in which health services are provided.
It is extraordinary what is happening in the area of health. It is an industry changing on a daily basis due to the high degree of technology and innovation in a knowledge management framework, with an increasingly clear implication for the citizen / patient. All this, whilst addressing the challenge of achieving the sustainability of health systems.
Due to the complexity of health systems, with its multitude of stakeholders, it is necessary to provide access to spaces
for sharing models, experiences and projects, particularly to deliver fluent communications between health professionals and industry. We need border-less tools, with a global view and local practice.
In this context, I am delighted to introduce mobilehealthglobal - a collaborative space created by Mobile World Capital Barcelona to enhance knowledge and activities taking place around mHealth, with a firm belief that the stakeholders and leading players will be each of you.
We believe that connectivity, mobile technologies and, above all, your professional experience and commitment will help to improve health and social welfare services, leading to personalized medicine for citizens who, in turn, will become more autonomous and motivated to take responsibility for their own health.
