The mHealth Competence Center at the Mobile World Capital Barcelona was launched in 2013. It develops and promotes the adoption of mobile technology in order to facilitate the necessary transformation of healthcare services, empowering citizens around the world.
Focused on the design and management of key projects that will enhance the world’s mobile economy. It identifies main stakeholders and defines Master Plans for the industries, both economically and socially.
With an extensive network of experts and innovators, MWCB is a catalyst, connecting technologists with health care practitioners to build the trust and cross-pollination necessary to allow new health care systems to prosper.
The mHealth Competence Center acts on different levels for the transformation of healthcare delivery through the adoption of technology:
Our most active role is as dynamizer, advocate, and promoter of Mobile and Digital Health throughout the ecosystem.
We facilitate the creation of guidelines and clear processes for deployment of digital innovation for the tech and healthcare sectors. Working on the development of standards and interoperability for the mHealth, we collaborate with regulators and expert health organisations around the EU.
Additional focus areas include interoperability, data security, and privacy when integrating mobile solutions, and ensuring standards are in alignment with regulatory bodies.
During 2016 the focus is on three main conditions due to statistical prevalence and high economic impact, with additional impact on society and the population
Our aim is to promote healthcare transformation through mobile technologies. We work closely with all bodies in charge of facilitating the adoption of Mobile and Digital Health solutions (regulators, technology transfer experts, public administrations, healthcare key opinion leaders, investors…)
